Last May, XRCB traveled to Linz (Austria) to participate in an European initiative called ECB (European Cultural Backbone) whose aim is to build a federated platform for European civil society media and content producers. Started by technologists, archivists and community media outlets, ECB wants to connect communities across Europe by developing a sustainable and self-governed alternative to centralized commercial services for publication and preservation of non-profit audiovisual content.
A delegation from XRCB participated in the hackaton and the workshops, and in a talk called “The socio-cultural impact of podcasting focused on community practices” as well and which you can see here.
